What’s New at the Headfirst Showcase PLUS?

With the ongoing NCAA Division I dead period, recruiting opportunities fall are hard to come by – but the upcoming Showcase PLUS sessions in Florida and California this December and January offer your best opportunity for digital exposure to 100+ college coaches before the end of the NCAA dead period. Check out what’s been added to the Showcase PLUS to guarantee your best look at top-academic baseball programs this summer.

What is the video being captured at the Showcase PLUS?

At the Showcase PLUS, we’ll be collecting video of each player’s defensive showcase, offensive showcase, pitching showcase and ALL live game play. This entire package of video will be tagged to each player and then put into a searchable and sortable database for college coaches’ easy access. Our database of 100+ college coaches will have direct access to this entire database of footage, allowing them to quickly and easily find and review your video without having to skim through hours of untagged, unorganized footage.

Players will also be sent all their offensive showcase and pitching showcase video to help in future outreach to college coaches. All defensive showcase and game play video will be available for purchase directly through our video partner NextPro.

 

Why does data matter in recruiting? How do college coaches and recruiters use it?

Data is a great way to give college recruiters insight into your on-field tools and a more complete view into the player that you’re developing into. When college coaches are recruiting, they’re assessing both the player you are right now and the player you can become as a member of their program during your college career – and data helps college coaches build this picture more fully. By using advanced data and analytics through platforms like Blast Motion and Rapsodo in conjunction with video, the Showcase PLUS gives college coaches an in-depth look at not just how you play in live games, but also your tools and potential projectability for their program.

 

What coaches are confirmed to attend the Showcase PLUS?

With the extended NCAA Division 1 dead period and travel difficulties, we have re-confirmed all coaches who are eligible to attend the Showcase PLUS and updated the coach list on our website accordingly. On the coach list, coaches are now listed as “CONFIRMED”, “PENDING” or “DIRECT DIGITAL ACCESS”.

  • CONFIRMED: these coaches have re-confirmed their commitment to attend in person on October 5-6. Barring unforeseen circumstances with their athletic department, these coaches will be on-site at the Showcase PLUS.
  • PENDING: these coaches have expressed a strong desire to be at camp in person but are awaiting final guidance from their athletic department about their ability to travel.  We expect to see many of these coaches at camp and will update their status on the website once they re-confirm their attendance.
  • DIRECT DIGITAL ACCESS: these coaches are unable to join us in person, either due to travel restrictions from their athletic department or because of the extended NCAA Division 1 dead period. ALL of these coaches will have access to the entire camp database of video, data and analytics as well as all players’ academic and contact info immediately after camp, giving them the resources they need to recruit players digitally and remotely.

We believe that the integrity and transparency of our college coach list is paramount to delivering the best recruiting opportunities for the student-athletes who attend our events. In the 22 years that we’ve operated Honor Roll Camps, we have held and honored our commitment. With all of the difficulties facing prospective student-athletes in the recruiting process this year, it’s more important than ever to maintain the integrity of our college coach list. We are constantly communicating with our college coach partners and plan on updating our list accordingly leading up to the Showcase PLUS.
